...our corner of the world... COLLEGE GROVE, TENNESSEE
College Grove is a community located in the southeastern portion of Williamson County in Middle Tennessee.
It is adjacent to Rutherford County, and it has had close connection with some of the communities in that county as well. Bedford, Marshall, and Maury Counties are also nearby.
A committee has been working on writing the history of the district. Submissions for family history stories should have already been turned in. The committee will continue to accept other interesting stories, historical articles, old pictures, or anything of interest about the history of College Grove and nearby areas. Please don't wait. This is a once in a lifetime chance to see your history published so that it will not be lost as time passes by. This has happened to so much of the history already. For information on submitting articles contact Carolyn Smotherman or Arline Sudberry
For those of you who have already sent in a deposit: The committee is meeting twice a month and material is still flowing in. They are taking the time to make sure that it will be the best book possible. A publication date will be posted here to the website as soon as the book is ready to go to print.
UPDATE Oct. 2008We are continuing our work on the book. The history section which includes schools, cemeteries, churches, etc. is just about finished. There is still typing and formating to be done on the families section. This book is taking a long time to compile, but we believe it will be worth waiting for. If you have any interesting stories or any information about anybody or anything in the College Grove area, please email Arline or Carolyn.
*Special Note: The purpose of this website is to inform you of the availability of the College Grove
History Book. I have not researched many of the names and therefore cannot supply information, as I do not have that amount of time.
